This is a song about war. It's about a parent who loses his entire life before it, clinging to memories that are now shattered. It's incredibly moving, full of sorrow, hatred, and anger. No one should have to go through a nightmare like that—having your family forced to flee or caught in a conflict with no way out, and you, after seeing your dreams crushed and your family torn apart, being pushed to fight in a conflict you didn't start. It's a nightmare, a bleak dream. There is no justice here.
lyrics
### **VERSE**
I lived in a dream with no sin, in a bubble
I was out of trouble. Being a little boy in a cuddle
Everything was safe at my place with my family
Looking through this fantasy I faced my life with no enemies
Me and my wife, and my girls, and my brothers
and my parents, and my friends, and the rest of the others
said that
We couldn’t stop the sudden war at the top
Where we just wanted to jump
to fly away to wake up
It wouldn’t happen at all
Now we fall, as the bombs
that rain destroy every hope
of us all, and now the storm comes
### **CHORUS**
I remember how we used to live
And then it turned out to be a dream
burned into ashes
Now that you’re not here
now that they’re not here
everything falls apart
while I’m stuck in this war
### **VERSE**
There were no more parties, no more birthdays
no more walking, no more rest days
just an army aiming for prey
Shutting places we had good times
Burning, breaking, cracking, smashing all our houses
My heart into pieces
Looking at the faces of my daughters on the buses
leaving to have choices
I keep thinking Why do I have to pass through all of this?
We couldn’t stop the sudden war at the top
Where we just wanted to jump
to fly away to wake up
It wouldn’t happen at all
Now we fall, as the bombs
that rain destroy every hope
of us all, and now the storm comes
### **BRIDGE**
*There’s no peace for us, for us
There’s no peace, there’s just WAR*
(I Just wanna runnaway, wanna runnaway…)
### **CHORUS**
I remember how we used to live
And then it turned out to be a dream
burned into ashes
Now that you’re not here
now that they’re not here
everything falls apart
while I’m stuck in this war
(I Just wanna runnaway, wanna runnaway…)

Another brilliant album from a very talented and under-rated artist. I have loved Ivan's music for years, would love to see him perform live. narrowgauge26
Catchy, quirky, and laced with beloved leitmotifs, the OST to Deltarune's second chapter solidifies Toby Fox's status as a VGM big shot. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 29, 2021
